FLAGSTAFF— Flagstaff today received a graphic demonstration climate change. While the Sun brightened up the San Francisco Peaks, it rained in Flagstaff proper.
A few lightning strikes were noticed, and this storm front appears to be moving towards Williams.
WILLIAMS — The Route 66 Street Market still growing despite the wet weather which threatens it. While we still have a rather high chance of rain, the rain seems to be holding off until the evening and night hours.
The Route 66 Street Market is located on the west end of town across the street from the Williams Memorial Park. The Market benefits the scholarship efforts of the Williams Kiwanis Club.
There remains a 40% chance of rain today dropping to 20% tonight. There is a 30% chance tomorrow during the day dropping to 10% Sunday night. The good news for drenched Williams is that the long range forecast through the week shows mostly clear and sunny through next Wild West Weekend.
The Wild West Weekend activities run June 19th and 20th and the Route 66 Swap Meet will be open and waiting for you.
WILLIAMS — Williams received a heavy dose of rain overnight and into the morning which cleared up mostly by about 9 a.m. Clouds continued to roll over through about 1 p.m leaving only trace rains in their wake. Currently it is partly cloudy.
The long range forecast shows:
This Afternoon: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 71. Southwest wind 11 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 50. South wind 5 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Thursday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 74. Light south wind becoming southwest 8 to 13 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.
Thursday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 47. West southwest wind 9 to 14 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Flagstaff enjoys about the same weather pattern with a 10% higher chance of rain throughout the reported period.
WILLIAMS — We can see by the ol’ Williams clock that Williams has moved into the 40% chance of rain forecast for this afternoon. The forecast for Flagstaff is about the same.
As of this writing, there is a 40% chance of rain this afternoon rising to 60% tonight. Flagstaff has a 50% chance this afternoon and 60% overnight. The chance of showers and thunderstorms hovers around 30% through Friday afternoon.
Ash Fork can also expect showers and thunderstorms throughout week with a 10% less chance as Williams.
WILLIAMS — Addicted to Route 66 Deals in Williams has added new stock just in time for Honor America Days and Independence Day.
Today they just received some beautiful hat pins and maganets honoring all services. Along with the service pins, they have pins and maganets for Vietnam veterans and honoring POWs. They still carry US made American flags which benefits the Sons of the American Legion youth programs.
Addicted to Route 66 Deals is still the center for Route 66 memoriablia. CDs with your favorite music from the 50s through the 70s, R&B, Country, Rock and more. Route 66 T-Shirts, hats, videos and too much to list.
And, of course, they still have the largest Route 66 sign on the Mother Road.
WILLIAMS — Ivo’s Restaurant is gone. But it did not take long to fill the void. The Rodriguez family has opened the Route 66 Fiesta Mexican Grill at 122 W. Historic Route 66.
The restaurant opened briefly tonight, but their hours are currently 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Their Wi-Fi will not be available until Monday.
The Rodriguez family: Martin Sr., wife Olivia and sons Martin Jr. and Chris.
Martin said that the ingredients for all dishes are made from scratch. None are taken from a can.
The family discovered Williams because Martin Jr. traveled through to visit his daughter in Phoenix. The family moved from Palmdale, California to open the new restaurant.
WILLIAMS — The Williams Summer Recreation program begins tomorrow. Please drive with care around the area of the Recreation Center and Circle-K on Railroad Avenue. Let’s make this another successful event with no injuries.
WILLIAMS — The American flag lines Route 66 from west-to-east along the Williams Memorial parade route. The Williams Police Department went all out to make sure people understand not to park in the parade route this year. KPBX 91.1 FM is blasting from the announcers stand. The 4-H club is setting up for their bake sale at Circle-K.
The parade is ready to begin in a little less than one-hour. The parade starts from the Banker’s Real Estate plaza in the area of the Williams Memorial Park on the west end. It will travel Historic Route 66 past 1st Street where it will end.
WILLIAMS — If you are coming to Williams for this long weekend (or pretty much any time), you probably wonder what pet services are available in town. Apart from the Chinese made toys and treats stocked in the general stores.
Veterinary services are available at the Williams Veterinary Clinic open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Friday. The clinic is located at 122 3rd Street. They provide a full range of pet health care services. They also sell Science Diet dog food products at their store. On certain weekends, they hold a vaccine clinic at the Spoiled Rotten Pet Boutique. Their phone number is 928-635-5392.
They do not, however, have emergency care. There are two locations in Flagstaff that provide emergency pet care. You might want to call ahead to make sure they know that you are coming.
Another emergency veterinary clinic is trying to get started in Flagstaff. According to the latest on their web site, the Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center of Northern Arizona plans to open on May 29. They plan to be open all weekend long from Friday at 5 p.m. to Monday at 8:30 a.m. to provide emergency medical services for pets. The pet hospital will be open 24 hours on holidays when other veterinary clinics are closed.
As an aside to the Williams clinic, Traci started Spoiled Rotten Pet Boutique & Supplies (Facebook) located at 517 E. Historic Route 66 on the east end of town. They sell cat and dog toys and clothing, bedding and the like. They stock Science Diet foods and treats. They include a selection of treats from the Bubba Rose Biscuit Company that are baked treats iced with yogurt.
On the grooming front, just down the street from Spoiled Rotten at 402 E. Route 66 is Manytails Pet Grooming. They have pet sitting and daycare services. They open Tuesday through Saturday at 9 a.m. You can call 928-635-8897 for appointments.
If you are traveling from Kingman, Seligman—and all points west—to Williams, you might have a pet that just needs to be groomed.
