Crews are scheduled to move traffic tomorrow (May 18) on State Route 89 at Perkinsville Road back to the west side of the highway (weather permitting) in order to continue building the new roundabout.

Minor delays are expected between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. as crews restripe the roadway and adjust the traffic control. Drivers will be in the new configuration for approximately four weeks.

Drivers may have minimal impacts during work hours and ADOT advises drivers to allow additional time to reach their destinations and to proceed through the work zone with caution, comply with the reduced speed limit, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

This $1.5 million project consists of a new roundabout at the intersection of SR 89 and Perkinsville Road between mileposts 328 and 329. Additional work includes removal and replacement of existing pavement, drainage improvements, new pavement markings and lighting.

This project is expected to be complete by September.

CHINO VALLEY — The closure of State Route 89 at the Hell Canyon Bridge (milepost 346) has been scheduled for tomorrow night Friday (May 13) to accommodate concrete work on the new bridge, between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m.

Drivers traveling on SR 89 Friday night into Saturday morning need to plan ahead as the road will be closed in both directions. Law enforcement will be on site to assist with the road closure.

As preparations take place leading up to the closure, crews will have SR 89 narrowed to one lane through the work zone from 5:30 p.m. on Friday night to 8 a.m. Saturday morning. Minimal delays are expected.

The next milestone for the bridge replacement project will be to open the new bridge to two-way traffic in mid-June. The project is expected to be complete by late summer.

ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zones with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

CHINO VALLEY — The Arizona Department of Transportation will restripe the roadway at the intersection of State Route 89 and Perkinsville today between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. to allow crews to begin construction of a new roundabout.

In addition to the restriping of the roadway, crews will close Perkinsville Road for the next five weeks and drivers will need to use alternate routes, to access SR 89 until the work is completed on the east side of the project. Traffic will be shifted to the west side of the roadway on SR 89 to make room for construction activity.

CHINO VALLEY — State Route 89, at milepost 329, near Perkinsville Road in Chino Valley will be restricted to one lane in both directions tomorrow (Nov. 10) between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for utility work.

Drivers can expect minimal delays during work hours.

The closures will provide a safe work zone for utility relocations as part of an upcoming ADOT project.

ADOT advises drivers to allow additional time to reach their destinations and to proceed through the work zone with caution, comply with the reduced speed limit, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel. Law enforcement personnel will be present to enforce the closures as they occur.
