FLAGSTAFF/WILLIAMS – Clouds hugged San Francisco Peaks and snowflakes began to fall in Flagstaff about 2:44 p.m. today with more along I-40. The weather turned out colder than predicted throughout the day. There was apparently an accident on I-40 in Williams, but we have no details.

100% chance of snow in Williams today
WILLIAMS – The long-range weather forecast shows a 100% chance of snow today. Of course a cursory look outside the window notified the residents of that.
The forecast shows 2-4 inches through the day with another possible 1-3 inches tonight. Tomorrow morning there is a 40% chance of snow with little new snow accumulation. The snow is expected to clear up Tuesday night. Wednesday and Thursday is expected to be sunny but cool.
A slight chance of rain and snow begins again Friday and through the weekend.
Snow expected through next week
FLAGSTAFF/WILLIAMS – The recent spring-like weather has slowly been ebbing since President’s Day with cooler days and freezing nights. Currently Williams is experiencing overcast conditions and a cold breeze.
According to the long-range forecast, Williams and Flagstaff have a chance of rain tomorrow night, but it is expected to be mostly sunny during the day.
20% chance of rain is forecast for Sunday and Sunday night leading to a 30% chance of snow showers Monday. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.
The chance of rain and snow showers run through Thursday of next week.
Rain clears up. Fog possible tomorrow.
WILLIAMS – The rain and clouds cleared up leaving a veil of fog in Williams this morning. Patchy fog is expected Sunday before noon.
The fog should clear giving way to a sunny day with temperatures about 53-degrees. Temperatures are expected to continue to rise to 60-degrees by next Saturday with lows of around 30 overnight.
One business, Spoiled Rotten Pet Boutique & Supplies on Route 66, reported ceiling damage from the rain on their Facebook page.
Significant rain possible through Saturday
FLAGSTAFF – Hazardous weather warnings are in effect for Williams and Flagstaff. Up to two inches of rainfall are possible through Saturday.
There is a 10% chance of rain today after 11 am for Flagstaff and Williams with a 100% chance of precipitation overnight. There is a 90% chance of rain Friday in Williams with 100% chance expected in Flagstaff.
According to the hazardous weather warning, a low pressure system off the Baja Coast will strengthen which will impact Arizona Saturday night. While current conditions will keep the snow level above 8500 feet, the storm has the potential to deliver up to two-inches of rainfall.
A winter storm watch has been issued for the White Mountains.
Rain should continue through Saturday clearing up in time for Super Bowl Sunday. Sunday should be clear and sunny.
Rain tonight and through the weekend
Rain is in the forecast for tonight and then again on Friday through the weekend. Flagstaff has a chance of rain and snow showers through the weekend.
Tonight there is a 90% chance of rain for Williams followed by 70% before 11 a.m. tomorrow dropping to 10% before 11 p.m. Tuesday night. Wednesday and Thursday are predicted to be sunny with highs around 53 and lows around 30. Rain is expected to pick up again Friday with a chance of rain all weekend.
Predictions for Flagstaff are roughly the same with a possibility of snow over the weekend.

No snow over the weekend
Williams woke up to about a half-inch of snow and cloud cover on Tuesday. They also received a dusting overnight with snow and cloud cover predicted to continue until about 11 a.m. today.
The predictions through Tuesday show temperatures rising to the mid-50s during the day dropping to about 30-degrees at night.
Rain/Snow over the weekend
WILLIAMS – The forecast for the weekend starts with rain 20% possible after 11 pm tonight through Saturday. This will change to rain and snow Sunday with the possibility of up to three-inches of snow accumulation over Sunday night. Monday there could be another one-inch of new snow. Snow and rain is expected to continue through Tuesday clearing up by Wednesday.
Temperatures will range from the mid-40s during the day to mid-20s at night. The highest winds expected are up to 13-mph on Sunday.
Flagstaff can expect about the same weather pattern with a couple of inches more of snow.
The sun came out tomorrow
WILLIAMS – If there is any truth to the wives tale that what you are doing on New Year’s day you will be doing the rest of the year, it should make the City of Williams happy. With the water problems the city has experienced, a reported 14″ of snow fell on Williams on New Year’s day. Flagstaff received 18″ while Mountainaire topped out at 20″.
There was expected to be a few more inches on New Year’s day, but instead the sun came out. The blanket of snow, though not enough to stay the water problem, was a beautiful sight. Since then the weather has been warm and the snow has been melting off.
The long range forecast shows sunny and warm through Friday when the next amount of precipitation should occur. Flagstaff has a 30% chance for a dusting of snow on Saturday and rain through Monday. Williams can expect rain showers through Monday.
This should help melt off much of any remaining snow, but could cause icy road conditions. Temperatures should remain in the mid-40s dropping to mid-20s overnight.
