Last Advent concert at St John’s Episcopal-Luthern Church
The last of the Advent musical presentations ended last Sunday at the St John’s Episcopal-Lutheran Church. Of course they invite visitors and new members to the 100-year old Church anytime.
The predicted snow of last night was less than spectacular leaving less than one-inch to add to the snow of the previous storms. Still there is plenty of snow left to construct that snowman as visitors to the Polar Express will attest to.
Light snow and rain is forecast for Wednesday during the day raising to a 50% chance on Thursday to deliver up to two-inches of fresh powder. Friday follows with a slight chance of light snow before 11 a.m. clearing to give us a sunny Saturday with a chance of snow the following two days.
Visitors to the Polar Express are reminded that they should stop at one of the local stores to purchase gloves for their kids.
This is, also, the last week in which you can visit Bearizona Drive-Thru animal park during the weekdays. During January and February they will only be open on Saturday and Sunday during their normal hours of 8 a.m. with the last car being admitted at 4 p.m. They have a GPS system which gives you a personalized tour of the park. After driving through the main attraction you can relax and take a stroll among the animals and take in the Raptor Show in the walk-through area.

Major Winter Storm Tracking Through the Central United States
A powerful system continues to bring significant, widespread impacts in the form of blizzard conditions, severe thunderstorms, damaging winds and fire weather conditions to the central United States. Meanwhile, another storm is beginning to impact the Pacific Northwest and northern California, where heavy mountain snow and coastal flash flooding are possible through at least Thursday.
As the Winter Solstice takes hold tomorrow and the world ends, Williams should remain clear until Christmas Eve on Monday when we are likely to see snow. Snow accumulations are not yet forecast. Currently it is sunny but cool with temperatures expected to reach a high of 50 while at night lows reaching 2 degrees.

WILLIAMS—Snow touched down in Williams, late last night, dumping about 3.5-inches. The long range forecast shows snow through Sunday night clearing by Monday morning. There will be a slight chance of rain and snow Tuesday night.
The good news is that is makes for a more scenic journey on the Polar Express, gives the Christmas feel and is a start at replenishing the water resources at Kaibab Lake, Buckskinner Lake, the Santa Fe Dam and other reservoirs in the area. The bad news is that it is only a start. The city will need quite a few more of these type storms to restore the lakes.
Williams could receive an additional 2-inches during the day with 3-5 additional inches overnight. There is a chance for another 3-5 inches over Saturday.
Residents should be aware that parking on the street is against city ordnance and hampers snow removal efforts. Visitors should be aware that this is enforced mainly in the downtown area and they should use the city parking lot around and across the street from the Williams Visitor center through Saturday. Or just walk through our winter wonderland. Just be careful of the ice.

WILLIAMS—The long range weather forecast indicates a 10% chance of snow tomorrow clearing up by the evening. The chance of snow picks up again Thursday through and Friday with the weather cooling throughout the week.
Coconino County Offices Closed Monday
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – All Coconino County offices will be closed Monday, Feb. 20 in observance of the President’s Day holiday.
While the administrative offices at the Sheriff’s Office will be closed, Dispatch, Records, Patrol, and Detention will conduct business as usual. Please dial 911 for emergencies. For non-emergencies, dial 928-774-4523 to connect with the non-emergency Dispatch number or to leave a message for one of the administrative offices.
As always, County Public Works Department road crews will remain on standby to ensure roadways are cleared and passable in the event of snowfall.

The National Weather Service is predicting a 10% chance of snow for Thursday through Friday. The weather should clear Saturday and warm up to 47-degrees. The next week should be clear.
Slight chance of snow predicted
The weather will be beautiful through Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. Sunday turns to a 20% chance of rain turning to snow Sunday night. The week-long forecast shows that the chance of snow will persist on Monday, the day we celebrate the accomplishments of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Travelers are urged to consider that snow during the night could mean icy road conditions and take the appropriate precautions.
Clear weather ahead
The seven-day forecast predicts clear weather through Tuesday and a rise in temperatures to 50-degrees.
Tonight northeast winds of 14 mph with gusts up to twenty will create a wind-chill making the 13-degree temperature feel like -1. Winds will calm, over the week, making the night time temperature 23-degrees. Christmas day temperature is expected to be about 47.
At night, ice can be expected as a travel hazard.
